The headline feature of the FiiO KA15 is its patented Desktop Mode, activated via a dedicated physical toggle switch. In Desktop Mode, the 4.4mm balanced headphone output unleashes a remarkable 560mW 560mW at 32Ω - a 207% increase in power compared to earlier FiiO dongle generations. This output headroom allows the KA15 to drive both sensitive in-ear monitors and demanding high-impedance over-ear headphones with authority, control, and exceptional dynamic impact. The 3.5mm single-ended output delivers up to 290mW 290mW at 16Ω for standard listening. Audio performance figures are outstanding across the board. THD N measures below 0.00045% on the single-ended output and below 0.0004% on the balanced output, while the signal-to-noise ratio reaches ≥123dB (A-weighted, balanced), and the noise floor stays below 1.7μV on single-ended and below 3.2μV on balanced. The frequency response extends flat from 20Hz to 50kHz with damping under 0.1dB, and the output impedance remains below 0.8Ω on single-ended and below 1.2Ω on balanced, ensuring compatibility with even the most demanding and sensitive earphones. The FiiO KA15 supports PCM up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD256 decoding via USB, as well as PCM up to 384kHz/32-bit via coaxial SPDIF output - making it one of the most capable dongles in its class for high-resolution audio. It is also Hi-Res Audio certified, confirming its ability to faithfully reproduce studio-quality recordings. One of the most distinctive features of the KA15 is its audiophile-grade 10-band high-precision lossless PEQ (parametric equalizer), powered by FiiO's self-developed advanced DSP algorithms.
